This month our Professional News is about Tony Lathrop ('99), Christian Friend ('06) and

Deborah Ross ('95)

Governor Roy Cooper has nominated ten new members to serve on the North Carolina Department of Transportation Board and among those is Tony Lathrop from the class of '99.

“These talented new members bring years of experience and commitment to public service to North Carolina’s Transportation Board,” Cooper said. “I look forward to working with them to make important improvements to our state’s transportation system."

Dr. Christian Friend ('06) has a new job as the Director of Research, Evaluation & Assessment for the Indianapolis Public Schools. Please wish him all the best with his next leadership challenge. North Carolina's loss is Indiana's gain.

Deborah Ross ('95) has joined Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP. She will primarily focus her practice on meeting the economic development, energy, and infrastructure needs of businesses and government. She will be based in the firm's Raleigh office and will work with clients throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.
